Watercolor is not simply a medium we control. We have to learn to paint with the water.

Today we’ll keep coming back to one important question:

WHERE IS THE WATER?

We’ll explore the relationship between water + paper, water + pigment, and water + brush, and how moisture, timing, pigment load, and brush control affect blooms, edges, washes, and transitions.

We’ll also look at ways to recognize—and solve—those moments when watercolor doesn’t behave the way we intended.

AFTERNOON: BUILDING THE PAINTING

We’ll continue developing our calla lilies, using water and layered washes to build luminous color, transitions, and form.

All supplies are available to rent for just $30 for the workshop—simply let me know when you register. You can walk in worry-free; everything you need will be provided. My goal is to equip you with tools that support your growth as an artist. I understand that not every technique or style is the right fit for everyone, so this is a chance to try things out and see what resonates. If you love it, you can add those supplies to your own studio collection.
