KIDS Water Moves: Unlocking the Secrets of Watercolor

A 6-week weekly class designed to help kiddos build a strong foundation in how watercolor really works!

Together, we’ll explore rich pigments, quality watercolor paper, and true watercolor brushes—and discover how each tool affects the paintings we create. As we build our skills, we’ll dive into color theory, create color wheels, and learn how to mix just about every color under the sun. We’ll study the unique properties of watercolor paint and learn how to make thoughtful decisions about which colors work best for the paintings we’re creating.

Through lots of demonstrations, guided practice, and hands-on experimentation, students will develop a functional understanding of watercolor painting. Alongside technique exercises and studies, we’ll apply each new skill to a series of small paintings that bring these ideas to life.

WHO? Ages 6–12
Perfect for young artists ready to dive into a new medium with a strong foundation—or for kids who have tried watercolor before but found themselves wondering why it “just won’t work!” We’ll start with the basics while building a practical set of skills and tools students can return to again and again.
