Land & Sky
Land & Sky is a full-day watercolor workshop focused on simplifying nature into strong, expressive compositions built on value, shape, and atmosphere. We will complete two studies: a sky and cloud painting exploring luminous washes, soft transitions, and expressive cloud forms, and a mountain landscape that moves from close green pastures and textured rocks into distant atmospheric sky. The focus is on learning to see in clear value groups, using atmospheric perspective, color temperature shifts, and controlled edges to create depth without overworking detail. Throughout the day, we emphasize painting with intention—letting light, space, and value structure lead the composition—so students leave with a clearer, more confident approach to creating simplified, expressive watercolor landscapes.
Expect step-by-step demonstration, one-on-one coaching, a fun day learning new tools to take home to your watercolor practice.
